Leading digital training provider QA has launched its first ever All-Female Software Testing Bootcamp aimed at encouraging women to break into the tech industry and combat underrepresentation in the industry.

Just one in six tech specialists in the UK are women. We’re on a mission to overcome this lack of female talent and connect exceptional individuals with forward-thinking businesses. In partnership with non-profit organisation Smart Works and funded by the Department for Education, QA’s All-Female Software Testing Bootcamp will give 25 learners key skills to for a successful tech career. On top of QA’s tailored support, Smart Works will provide participants with employability support, interview clothes, and make-up pre-interview stage.

The live virtual training modules will be delivered weekly by a female trainer and take place part-time during school drop-off friendly hours.

Launching on International Women’s Day - 8th March - the bootcamp concludes with a ‘speed interview day’ attended by multiple employers. Upon completion of the programme, candidates will receive an industry recognised certification. They will also be eligible to progress onto an accelerated apprenticeship to further refine their skillset.

Anita Ibrahim, Director of Social Impact and Diversity at QA commented: “Investing in women is vital for technology businesses wishing to strengthen their performance, improve diversity and inclusion, and bridge the digital skills gap. Yet being a woman in tech, particularly at a junior level, can feel daunting. Even learning basic skills often happens in a male-dominated environment where it can feel difficult to speak up or listened to.

“QA’s new All-Female Software Testing Bootcamp is providing a safe and flexible learning environment that works for women. Diversity and inclusion will be easier to achieve if we’re willing to flex the way we present opportunities to potential employees and genuinely embrace female talent.”
